To learn more about The Four Forces, read the intro post to this series. To learn more about anchors, read the prelude to this series.
I am focusing on play in this anchors offering. I identify play as something fun, low-to-no pressure, and that brings joy to the body. We'll be explore anchoring in the flow of play.
The Love Force
Play Anchored in Love
A bodied practice
You can do this alone, with a partner, or with others.
Put on a song that has a rhythm you like to dance to.
Let your body move, in whatever way you desire.
Don't worry about if you look "good" in your movement.
Just move. Remind your body it is Loved and lovable.
The All-Light Force
Play Anchored in Luminosity
A reflection practice.
Go outside.
Or just look out a window.
Let your gaze go out beyond you and a human-made building.
Notice the light.
Mark where it dances, where it stills, where it flickers, where it winks.
Dance, still, flicker, and wink back.
Ignore anyone who's looking (unless you want to invite them to play with you and the light).
The Alchemical (or Magic) Force
Play Anchored in Magic
A what-if practice.
If you could see the magic all around you, what would it be like?
What would happen if a mischievous fairy made their way into your kitchen?
Or if a tiny piece of a dusty, glowing star fell in your backyard?
Or if you blew bubbles, whispering your wishes into them because you knew they'd carry them to the clouds to grant them?
Or...something else?
What if you could see and feel the magic all around you?
The Grief Force
Play Anchored in Grief
A laughter practice.
Listen.
Ease into this.
As you can, bring up someone or something that you have grieved are grieving.
Can remember something about the person or thing that makes you laugh?
Something they did? A story from that place? A happening you never told anyone but that always makes you chuckle?
Let it come up. Let yourself laugh while the grief is present.
In all this, give thanks. Thanks for the body, thanks for the reflection, thanks for the what-if, thanks for the laughter.
